As much as the words "meditation" and "nightclub" seem like they could never, ever go together, this Las Vegas nightclub makes it happen. Dubbed 'The Octave of Visible Light: A Meditation Nightclub,' this pop-up establishment by artist Lia Chavez serves as an experimental space where guests are guided through meditations while wearing EEG headsets, so that their brainwaves will determine the audio and visual cues within the room.

This experience allows each visitor to become a "DJ," for 15 minutes, providing entertainment for the rest of the club attendees. While you're being overwhelmed with stimuli, part of what makes the experience intriguing is that you're challenged to find stillness and calm against the booming beat and dazzling lights. As a result, those who have attended this unique nightlife experience report it having a spiritual effect.
