This advertising artifact is a true gem for a sports facility. The world’s largest hockey stick, weighing 61, 000 lbs, and the world’s largest puck reside in the small town of Duncan, British Columbia, at the Cowichan Community Centre. The monstrous stick, measuring 205 feet was built in 1985, out of Douglas Fir wood, reinforced with steel. It was originally displayed at Expo ‘86 World’s Fair Exposition in Vancouver, BC, Canada.
The Province of British Columbia had since donated the stick to the Cowichan Community Centre, following a country-wide competition.
