laminate fanatastic

My friend brought a couple of these trays back from Los Angeles, I was amazed how gorgeous they were.

I’m not usually taken by surface pattern being the arch-modernist that I am but these are exceptional. The detail in the prints are superb.

They appear to be a high pressure plastic laminate.

I checked the companies website and they do fantastic furniture from the same materials, have a look at the kids furniture! As I said earlier this type of post modern quirkiness is not usually for me I thought Etore Sottsas got it right in the 7o’s and it should have been left there. (unfortunately Alessi thinks differently!).
