Lady Gaga is rockin’ a Kewpie doll trend in lipstick application. Since John Galliano showed the look on his models in his Fall 2009 collection, the pop star has been seen with her lips in a similar faux pursed look reflective of a 20’s flapper girl.

The effect can be simply replicated by applying a darker shade of lipstick to the center portion of the mouth using a liner to create two exaggerated peaks on the top and a plumped up pout on the bottom lip.

The effect is a somewhat outrageous and yet oddly innocent Betty Boop sort of fashion statement.
