This eclectic kitchen photo series takes viewers into the homes and kitchens of Balkans in this visually aesthetic kitchen photo series. Captured by Vienna-based photographer Eugenia Maximova, the kitchen photo series goes to one of the most intimate and personal locations in people’s homes to give an accurate portrait of their lives -- according to Balkan culture the kitchen represents the spirit of the home and society.
By photographing all these kitchens for her ‘Kitchens Stories’ series, Maximova started to notice commonalities in Balkan culture when it came to a distinct feel and look that was obvious -- she found that there was a mix of Eastern rural feel and some Oriental details. The talented photographer believes that this is because of all the ethnic backgrounds that have fused together in the region.
