Katy Ann Gilmore has found a unique expression for her artistic abilities. With an equal passion for math and nature, she has managed to combine the three in order to create striking topographical scenes that look straight out of a computer program. Each piece is made out of tiny triangles that come together to form thatched forms that play with negative and positive space.
Based out of Los Angeles, Katy Ann Gilmore essentially explores the idea of perpendicular planes and the distortion of three-dimensional space through her artworks. Peculiar and poetic, she completes each illustration with pen, making it as much an effort of patience as it is of skill. Some of Katy Ann Gilmore's artworks are so large scale, they almost seem impossible to exist.
