In what may very well be the most anticipated collection of the upcoming fall season, the Karl Lagerfeld for Macy’s collection is set to drop in Macy’s stores at the end of August. The collection comes about seven years after the Chanel creative director’s uber-popular collaboration with H&M, which then spawned the chain retail store’s collaborations with designers like Matthew Williamson, Stella McCartney, Lanvin and the upcoming Versace for H&M collection.
Designers teaming up with department stores is an incredibly successful trend and great way to provide high fashion to the masses at affordable prices. The Karl Lagerfeld for Macy’s collection will be set at regular Macy’s price points.
Lagerfeld says, “These partnerships are a working holiday from my normal discipline, and I like to think differently.” After his 45-piece collaboration with the department store, Macy’s will feature a collection in partnership with Giambattista Valli in November.
Each piece from the Karl Lagerfeld for Macy’s collection will cost around $100 US. Not so bad coming from the genius behind Chanel.
