Mecanoo Architects has big plans for the Kaohsiung Public Library that could see the structure turned into a lush microclimate complete with a plethora of plant life and other eco-friendly elements.

Designed to be a 38,000-square-meter cubelike facility, the Kaohsiung Public Library would house a theatre, research center, public plaza, conference room and tons of thriving green spaces. Their hope is that the building would become a multipurpose eco community space.
