Sometimes a dessert can taste out of this world amazing and the Jupiter Structural Layer Cake captures that feeling. Of course, it could have been made with a theme party in mind. In reality, it is the second creation in a series of planetary confections. The first involved the Earth Structural Layer Cake, which was created for a grade school class. The response was so huge, that Rhiannon of Cake Crumbs felt compelled to make another.
According to Rhiannon, the Jupiter Structural Layer Cake is "made of mudcake, surrounded by almond butter cake, surrounded by a tinted vanilla Madeira sponge." The blue and white coloring captures a theoretical “core comprised mostly of rock and ice… surrounded by a layer liquid metallic hydrogen, and the outer layer is composed of molecular hydrogen.”
