Published by Taschen, Jim Heimann's 'Surfing. 1778-2015' book explores surf culture throughout the years, beginning as early as 1778. "More than just a popular sport, surfing can be described as a holistic lifestyle that extends deep into fashion, art and music."

From sunny Hawaiian coasts to the Venice Beach boardwalk, the sport has garnered a global fan base and has inspired countless clothing collections and musical sub-genres including both American and Japanese surf rock styles.

Jim Heimann's limited edition book release -- only 125 copies were made -- looks at the complex and fascinating sport and its many facets. Surfer culture posters, photo essays and historical facts are all displayed within the anthology that is also accompanied by poster by famed artist John Severson.
