Although there's a vacant creative design position in this fashion house, the Jil Sander Fall 2014 Menswear Collection is pumping some dapper looks for the fall in a group effort. Creative duties have fallen to an anonymous group of in-house designers that have tapped into the house's finicky founder.
The root of the brand is in its fabrics consisting of wool jackets, pixelated tweed motifs on shirts, oversized hooded outerwear in leather with a matte rubber finish. Monotone clusters of eggplant, rosemary and peacock blue adorn these young men creating a lux array of colors.
Despite the absence of a creative director the collection pulls together in a solemn and understated venture that, in a way, lives and breathes the idea of potential. One can only anticipate what the future has in store.
