Jeremy Gutsche and Trend Hunter were quoted in a News1130 article Wednesday morning that covers what a new Angus Reid study commissioned by American Express is calling “potentialists”—those who have chosen to pursue their passions rather than financial notions of wealth.
The poll was conducted in mid-September, and was meant to track how people have balanced their pursuits since the onset of the recession. In the News1130 article, Jeremy Gutsche notes that the recession has fueled people to throw themselves into charity work, look for a second career, spend more time with friends and family, or take more time off to travel. This is backed by the study’s findings, which indicate that 28% of Canadians have ventured from tradition to focus on their passions.
