Jennifer Lopez has a new fragrance (Deseo)

Singer and actress Jennifer Lopez is adding another fragrance to her expanding. Deseo, whicn means desire in Spanish, is due for release in February 2008, is her ninth fragrance in five years. Created in collaboration with perfumer Ellen Molner and Jim Krivda, the new fragrance is geared towards a “more sophisticated and mature” audience than her prior scents. The new flacon designed by JLo is meant to represent a diamond in the rough and for the first time, a bottle of a Jennifer Lopez scent will offer a different shape from the usual long-necked bottles in the Glow series. “The idea for the scent usually comes first,” she says. “I always call up and say, I love this or I love that, get this candle or this flower that was in my garden. With Deseo, the inspiration came from a combination of smells in my own garden. So, I called up my friends at Coty and asked them to come take a walk through my garden with me so they could experience it. It was late at night so there was kind of a dew in the air and I took them to an area where there are these beautiful geranium flowers, orange trees, lemon trees, and all this stuff mixing together that was making this beautiful smell.” According to WWD, the fragrance notes include watery bamboo leaves, yuzu, bergamot, freesia, star jasmine, pink geranium flower, orange blossom, mimosa, warm amber, oak moss, musk, sandalwood, cedar, patchouli and mineral accord. Deseo will come in two sizes; 1.7 oz (50mL) for $46, and 3.4 oz (100mL) for $56. There will also be a body lotion, Desirable Body Lotion, retailing for $27.50 for 6.7 oz (200mL). Jennifer is also working on creation of a masculine fragrance that is planned to be launched in fall 2008. The star told WWD “I’ve always known that I wanted to launch a fragrance for men.Since Deseo is all about desire and sensuality, it seems perfect to develop a male counterpart for it”.
