Japanese Cops Get Cute - Bunny Ear Cruier Lights (VIDEO)
Police officers in Japan are adding an element of cute to their cruisers with new lights in the shape of rabbit ears.
Do they have a real purpose? Is it just to make the confrontation with authorities less intimidating?
The Osaka Prefectural Police Department bought 800 of these electric blue bunny lamps, and they are in fact intended to comfort children.
“Specially built by Patlite, a Japanese company that specializes in warning equipment, the Osaka Prefectural Police Department has reportedly purchased 800 of the rabbit strobe lights to be fixed to police vehicles that patrol areas around schools,” SciFi Blog said. “Now criminals will be carried away in shame under flashing bunnies, surrounded by cheering kids.”
The blue strobe lights were spotted at the Tokyo Motor Show and can be seen in the embedded video.
