Which it does not seem right than Peter Jackson who directed the Lord of the Rings seemed the perfect person to direct the Hobbit, but due to studio politics Peter Jackson was out. That is way I understood. But after reading on Hollywood reporter, Peter Jackson is going to be the executive producer and write the script while Guillermo del Toro will direct. This is the Dream Team of Fantasy movies. Peter Jackson will do all the writing and making the script to be the way he wants it and Guillermo del Toro will take his twisted vision. And as a view we will be the Winners. Production will start late 2009 and release date (hoping) 2011  "Hobbit," written by Tolkien for his children years before the "Rings" trilogy, follows a young Bilbo Baggins, who finds his comfortable life turned upside down when the wizard Gandalf takes him on a journey for a hoard of treasure that involves trolls, humans, Gollum and his ring of invisibility and a dragon named Smaug.
