Designer Jake Phipps has designed the world's thinnest chair. The chair folds to just 3 cm thin. To achieve this feat, the panels use high strength laminations which support the person sitting while providing a comfortable level of flex.
Implications - Living in a metropolis often leaves dwellers with minimal living space. Furniture design pieces have become smaller as a result, helping save space and making living in the city a little easier. Companies should consider not just making miniature products, but also multi-functional pieces that will conserve space and provide the functions of multiple furniture pieces that normally, may take up too much living space.
