Bemis' Transforms Branding with Interactive Package Systems

At the International Production and Processing Expo this year, Bemis North America showed off some systems to help brands create an interactive package for products. One cloud-based technology makes use of a mobile device in order to share coupons, recipes and more information through augmented reality. Since customers are encouraged to interact with packaging in order to get special deals or recipes, this transforms the point of purchase.

Noting that QR codes on packages see little engagement, this 4D technology can be constantly changed through the cloud to keep messages fresh and relevant. Many of the brands that prefer to retain an artisanal look have found success with this smart packaging solution, including Heinz and Hillshire Farms' Park's Finest Franks.
