Cambridge Consultants created an interactive bar that leverages the abilities of NFC technology to enhance the way adults order drinks. The experience begins by having a user input their drink order from their mobile device at the table, so that they can remain seated with their group and get a notification when the order is ready.
At the bar, the phone's role in the experience is not over, as it can be placed on the table to create digital bubbles that can be played with—beyond being interactive and visually engaging, these bubbles also help to highlight the different types of drinks being served. With machine vision, the projections are updated and labeled accordingly to tell various beverages apart. Cambridge Consultants notes that "once all the drinks have been placed on the bar the bubbles burst and the order is complete.”
