Glowing Socket With Electricity Meter

This is eco-application at it's finest. The glowing socket is a design for something we use every day but rarely give any thought to. The socket works like a regular one except it has a built in electricity meter that shows the amount of power being used. The glowing socket was designed by Shane Ellis and Terry Brown.

Implications - The two designers placed a hidden LED light inside the sockets which enable the whole thing to light up. The more power traveling through the socket, the brighter the socket glows red.
