This Inventive Instagram Idea Cleverly Uses the Photo Grid

This creative Instagram idea from IKEA makes use of the photo-sharing platform's grid view to showcase a range of customizable shelving units called 'METOD.' In order to show just how much flexibility the shelving unit can bring to a living space, a set of photos was created to imitate the arrangements that could be made by the furniture system. Each time a new photo was uploaded, the unit changed shape entirely, suggesting its versatility within a space.

Australian ad agency 303LOWE reports that this creative Instagram campaign cost virtually nothing to create, yet these simple photos caused the shelving units to sell out.

Another standout Instagram campaign from IKEA in the past included mocking up entire catalogs in the same way using the social media app, which proved to be just as effective for showcasing a range of products.
