Michael O’Neal has teamed up with Vogue to debut an Instagram fashion shoot, which has all photos shot and uploaded with nothing but a smartphone. Smartphone photography and social media are becoming more and more relevant, with designers such as Rebecca Minkoff choosing to debut fashion week collections via Snapchat. Smartphone photography could be a new avenue for fashion houses and magazines to reach wider audiences.

This particular shoot featured models (Xiao Wen, Arlenis Sosa and Hilary Rhoda) traipsing over New York City; in one shot, a model crosses the street in Times Square in a crisply tailored white pant-and-shirt combo. Another model poses on the street in a structured vibrant Iris-colored suit. Ultimately, the shoot captures an elegant city chic vibe. The Vogue Instagram fashion shoot combines high fashion with accessible technology for a wider-spread audience.
