One of Pokémon’s most enduring mysteries—since it became a worldwide phenomenon back in 1996—has been the question “what does the inside of a pokeball look like?” French illustrator Bruno Clasca aka Donnie has finally solved this question for us in a series of illustrations entitled ‘Pokehouse.’

‘Pokehouse’ depicts the inside of the pokéballs of the original three starter Pokémon: Squirtle, Charmander and Bulbasaur. Similar to the interior of a genie’s lamp, these pocket monster domiciles are much more spacious than one would be lead to believe. Not only is there enough room for each Pokémon to move around comfortably but significant space remains for Squirtle’s pool and Charmander’s charcoal grill.

My childhood spent fretting over Pokémon living conditions has been pointless -- they live better then I do.
