Ingestible Robot - Explore Your Inner Self

Earlier this week, we featured ingestible gold pills… but if you are going to drop something expensive in you, why not make it an ingestible robot?  At least that way you can get to see yourself from the inside and make sure everything in your system is running well.

The capsule endoscope NORIKA system consists of;
1. Micro capsule CCD camera,
2. External controller to wirelessly control and operate the capsule, and
3. Coil-embedded vest for power transmission and direction control
The dimension of a capsule camera is 9mm in diameter and 23mm in length. The case is made of resin. Inside the capsule, 3 rotor-coils for posture control are located surrounding the capsule. Around the camera lens, magnetic coils for focus adjustment and 4 LEDs are placed. In addition, at the centered space area, 2 tanks with valves are prepared. Lastly, a capacitor to store electric power and a microwave video signal transmitter make the NORIKA capsule complete.
