In creating a sleeping solution for her disabled husband and five children, Elizabeth Boyce creatively IKEA-hacked some existing furniture to achieve her goal. The result is a uniquely set up series of beds that fits the needs of all those involved. Although not ideal, this setup works perfectly for the Boyce family.

The unique setup has two bunk beds in use, with the lower portion vacant for a larger sized bed. The two perimeter bunks give the sleeping system some structure, while all the vacant space underneath is utilized in a variety of ways. Boyce, her husband and young son share the middle bed, while another son sleeps on a smaller mattress hidden under the bunk. The IKEA-hacking continues by repurposing odd spaces as lighting and storage solutions.
