Hyundai Introduces the 2009 Sonata and Genesis Sports Sedan (CAS 2008) (VIDEO)

Hyundai introduced two 2009 models at the Chicago Auto Show: The Genesis sports sedan and the newly designed Sonata. Aslo on exibit is the i-Blue fuel cell electric hydrogen-powered, zero-emission concept car.
The new ‘09 Hyundai Sonata features an all-new interior, enhanced suspensions and revised powertrains. Now on sale at Hyundai dealerships, the ‘09 Sonata features the second-generation Theta II 2.4-liter inline 175 hp, 4-cylinder engine with standard 5-speed manual gearbox or new 5-speed automatic transmission. Also available, Sonata’s 3.3-liter V-6 now pumps out 249 horses mated to the 5-speed automatic. Available in GLS, SE and Limited series, the ‘09 Sonata’s exterior wears new bumpers, wheels, chrome grille, jeweled projector lens headlights, bolder taillights and chrome-accents. The 5-passenger revamped cockpit is finished in upscale, premium materials.
The all-new Genesis sports sedan is scheduled to arrive at dealerships this summer. Genesis is built on Hyundai’s all-new, performance-driven rear-wheel-drive architecture. It offers three powertrains, including 3.3-liter and 3.8-liter V-6 engines, and Hyundai’s all-new 4.6-liter Tau V-8. The Tau will produce an estimated 375 horsepower using premium fuel and 368 horsepower using regular unleaded. Both V-6s use an Aisin 6-speed Shiftronic automatic with overdrive, and the V-8 Genesis is mated with a high output ZF 6-speed auto gearbox. Like every ‘09 Hyundai, Genesis comes standard with XM Satellite Radio.
