Expected to debut at the Detroit Auto Show, the Hummer HX, is the latest from the company associated with macho, gas guzzling, suburban warriors. The HX is expected to compete in a new niche, with off-road vehicles such as the Jeep Wrangler and Toyota FJ Cruiser. The car features a V6 engine, paired with an automatic six speed transmission, producing an estimated 304hp. The car is not yet set for production, but given Hummer’s goal of more models, it may soon be seen on a trail near you.  By the numbers, the HX slots between the Jeep Wrangler and Wrangler Unlimited quite nicely. The wheelbase is 103 inches, almost eight inches longer than the standard Wrangler and thirteen inches shorter than the Wrangler Unlimited. The doors, top, and fenders are all removable, which allows open-air driving and better visibility on the trail.
