The American Chiropractic Association is saying that purse-related injuries surged 30% in 2007. Who knew there was even such a thing as a purse-related injury? The ACH blames the trend on the recent craze for oversized handbags. They say women commonly fill the colossal bags ten to fifteen pounds full of stuff. The resulting pain in their shoulders and neck drives them to the doctor’s office.  Doctors warn that carrying a bag weighing 10% or more of your body weight can cause improper balance when hiked over one shoulder. It interferes with the natural movement of the upper and lower body, they say.
