The Honey Bank Lets People Invest in the Honeybee Population

By: Alyson Wyers - Published: • References: banquedumiel.org & psfk
In an effort to raise awareness about the diminishing honeybee population, a French art collective created a finance-focused educational exhibit. Parti Poetique established La banque du miel -- or The Honey Bank -- to teach people about the startling decrease of the honeybee population and what that means for food security.

The art installation allows people to invest in the future of bees by giving them the opportunity to open a savings account where they put in real funds and get honey in return. Parti Poetique is also using the clever tagline 'Time is Honey.'

Participation is open to anyone who visits The Honey Bank in person. Locations exist throughout Europe, including Bordeaux, Paris, London, The Hague and Geneva. Stats for Awareness-Raising Bee Exhibits Trending: This Year & Buzzing
