Popular surrealist cook The Vulgar Chef shares this homemade wings recipe that involves using soda to change the color and flavor of chicken wings.

Using soda is a great way to add sweet flavors to meat, but the concept isn't often used when it comes to chicken wings. The Vulgar Chef tests the cooking method out using Mountain Dew Code Red which has a similar flavor to the original soda topped with notes of cherry. The soda's rich color turns the chicken wing meat red as well giving them a bright hue and subtle cherry taste.

While The Vulgar Chef says the recipe did work, he is hoping to approach it again and incorporate more of the soda into a barbecue sauce that can be used to coat the wings and give them an extra kick of flavor.
