The latest in home security is more discriminatory than ever, involving finger print scanners that only allow pre-approved people to gain access to the door. That means unless you register the prints in the system, even a friend or housekeeper you lend a key to won’t be able to gain access.

Installing the iTouchless BM002U is a good way to keep kids out of mischief or from discovering forbidden objects—like the liquor cabinet—in daddy’s games room.

“It uses the latest biometric entrance technology with 150 fingerprints storage capacity for single latch tubular model,” Amazon.com explains. “It can replace any standard door locks and can be installed by DIY (do-it-yourself). This fingerprint door lock offers a sliding front cover that not only allows protection for the optical sensor but also activates the fingerprint scanner when lifted and it can be accessed by fingerprint, pass code, or backup key. Powered by 1 9 Volt battery which will handle 15,000 uses.”

They’re available on Amazon for $179.95.

these have been out for almost a year or more. what is bad about them is when the battery gets low the fingerprint recognition doesn't work. there is a button combination for the low battery instances, but once the battery dies you still have to use a regular key
