The HITSU Series 02 is a collection of vibrant, funky socks that are adorned with the artwork of Toronto artists. The designs on the socks were crafted by a roster of Toronto's finest artists, illustrators and visual creatives.

Among the contributors is SPUD1, a legend in the Toronto underground art scene and perhaps best known for using street art as a weapon to take on Toronto's anti-graffiti Mayor Rob Ford.

SPUD1 says the project brought about some unique challenges. "I thought it would be a lot easier than it was. In past experiences working with clothing it was a print or silk screen print," he says. "But with [HITSU] socks... the image is made from the woven threads of the sock so certain details are hard to achieve."

The HITSU Series 02 socks are designed for people who are unafraid to experiment, therefore it's only appropriate that each box of socks comes in a 'blind pack' where you can't actually see which socks you're getting until you get home and open up the box. However, the multi-pack boxes are packed so you won't get the same pair twice.
