South Korean B-Boys- Hip-Hop Breakdancing Phenomenon (VIDEO)

Breakdancing was introduced in South Korea 35 years ago but the history of b-boys and organized dance crews that participate in breakdance competitions only goes back 11 years.
“Of the top six or seven crews in the world, I’d say half of them are from Korea,” says Christopher “Cros One” Wright, an American break dance and recent judge of a international hip-hop dance contest in Suwon, South Korea in May.
I have to admit I really didn’t know how big a phenomenon breaking was in South Korea but after watching a few videos all I can say is that these kids have got REALLY MAD SKILLS! Check out the videos and see for yourself.
The development of South Koreans' hip-hop dancing could be seen a cultural parallel to their sharp global ascendance in electronics and automaking. A decade ago, Koreans were struggling to imitate the Bronx-style b-boy and West Coast funk styles that are the backbone of the genre. Now, a handful of these crews are the safest bets to win any competition anywhere.
