The #heelconcept meme is inspiring people to put away their Christian Louboutin stilettos and exchange them for high heel-mimicking products like apples, marble, shells and balloons. Since the meme went live in late December, the hashtag has received approximately 1,000 tags from fans participating in the action. The Instagram user, @m.sty, created the meme and shows no signs of slowing down. Posed with an arched foot over a bronze statuette, the photo went viral and has since created a growing catalog of ideas for new kinds of artful and implausible footwear.

The meme plays off of footwear designers like Alexander McQueen and Giuseppe Zanotti because of their surrealist high heels, such as the miniature Roman statute heel, playing off of the idea of Dolce & Gabbana's column heel.
