Handwritten Book by J.K. Rowling Fetches $3.98 Million at Auction

A rare handwritten work, “The Tales of Beedle the Bard,” a Harry Potter book by writer J. K. Rowling fetched more than 40 times its estimated value on December 12th in London. There were 10 bidders and the winning bidder was a London-based dealer Hazlitt, Gooden, and Fox. All proceeds from the $3.98 million will be donated to The Children’s Voice, a charity Rowling co-founded two years ago to support helpless children across Europe.
Rowling claims it to be a sanitization of the subjects picked in the Harry Potter earlier books and he also enjoyed writing it by taking it as his mouthpiece to bid farewell to his golden moments happened during 17 years. Counted seven copies are being produced with a base of brown leather and bedecked in silver and moonstones. Whilst the other six have gone to people intimately associated to the Harry Potter books, the seventh one earned its pompous owner today.
