You would never expect a bag to be inspired by a hair braid, but Agnes Kovacs' line called System and Form includes bags and a hat are all made from leather and indeed inspired by hair braids.

The Carpathian people wear various styles of braids, from thee, four, five and even 22 branches, only letting their hair down on festive days. Typically Kovacs begins with a flat surface for this collection, forming the braids off the flat areas of the leather.

The sides of the leather are cut into different sized pieces and form structures depending on the style of the braid. The woven details make the simple material really stand out. She states, "The collection is based on a system that has an astounding ability to create forms."
