James Nachtwey's Camera Captures Global Ills

Photographer James Nachtwey's task is an unenviable yet necessary one. He has committed himself to documenting real life horror stories. The images he captures can only be described as gut-wrenching, heartbreaking and eye opening.

The photos are grouped by tragedy and the series is simply named in the most self explanatory way possible. The titles include 'AIDS', 'Deeds of War,' 'Crime and Punishment,' 'Bosnia,' 'Romania' and 'Famine.'

This is definitely the kind of stuff that we never want to see, but most desperately need to witness if we are to ever truly understand the world we live in. Stats for Heartbreaktography Trending: Older & Average
