Guido Daniele; The creator of Manimals (GALLERY)
[Edit]
Although Guido Daniele can be a perfect stranger to the reader, he is a great multi-talented artist that is not only known in his native country, Italy, but also by the international press as “a master of the body painting”.
Guido was born in Soverato, Italy, in 1950, though he lives and works in Milan. He frequented the Art School of Brera from 1964 to 1968 and then he attended sculpture at the Academy of Fine Arts in Brera where he graduated in 1972 obtaining a major in sculpturing.
But his curiosity took him to India where he attended the Tankas School in Dharamsala from 1972 to 1974. It can be possible that Guido captured the essence of animals in that beautiful country. This subject is recurrent in his works. In an interview given to the Italian newspaper “Il Corriere della Sera” he expressed, “I defend the animals and the nature with my art”.
He has been working and improving his personal usage of the airbrush. He paints back-stages in different sizes for photo shootings, ads and TV shows.
He has added a new artistic experience to his previous ones since 1990. He uses the body painting technique in model bodies, ads and fashion events.
We can say that his name has been inserted in the press circle after his exhibition “Manimali” (“Manimals”) where he used his body painting skills to paint animals on the hands of his models. The online British newspaper “Daily Mail” called him “Hand Gogh!” referring to the artist Van Gogh and to the paintings he created on the hands.
