Lora Zombie’s recent collection of grunge art is bright, beautiful and has a transcendent quality. The subjects depicted in the pieces range from young children to adults and animals.

The splattered shots with children are whimsical and cheery; a piece with a child and balloons dripping is youthful and serene, while another shows a little girl jumping like a bird, communicating a strong sense of imagination.

Some pieces unveil darkness, like the one depicting a woman toting a gun. These pieces imply a feeling of gloominess, whereas pieces depicting children are more lighthearted. The contrast may be a commentary on the lightness of childhood and the darkness of adulthood.

Regardless, Zombie’s grunge art is remarkably fascinating and the reoccurring theme of birds is sure to take flight.
