A chicken named Rabanita from Huecatitla, Mexico, has become a local celebrity after laying green eggs. Rabanita has been in all the local papers, featured on YouTube, and on Televisa TV.

"My children say that God looks favorably on me so that I was given as a prize a chicken that lays green eggs," the owner, Elvira Romero, said.

Scientists claim that Rabanita might be a rare exotic species from South America related to the Araucana chicken, which can lay colored eggs, ranging from bluish and greenish to pinkish-brown, and sometimes even tan, gray or white.

To paraphrase the great prophet, Dr. Seuss, Green Eggs and Ham? I do so like them, Sam-I-am.
