Google has launched it’s latest multimedia invention. By applying an all-in-one concept to their product development, they have successfully set ‘Google Play’ into motion -- a page that will allow users to access music, films, novels and games.
Google Play is shaping up to be a shark in the tech market. With hopes to rival industry giants like Apple and Microsoft, the browser will circulate those who frequent Google Music, Google Books and the Android Market to the Google Play page. Once users are on the site, they will have the ability to store up to 20,000 songs (free of charge) in addition to access to over 450,000 Android applications and games.
Adam Flanders, senior VP of sales and marketing at Glu Mobile Inc., claims that by compounding various Google platforms, Google Play will expand the customer market, especially in the applications niche, “If they’ve got more eyeballs in the store looking for all kinds of content, there’s a higher probability of people finding our games.” However, while Google Play is an aggressive advancement in the digital world, future sales records and user numbers will either prove or disprove Flanders’ statements.
