While YouTube may have birthed a plethora of DIY Internet sensation success stories, Google+ Hangouts On Air was used by Barack Obama to transmit his message to the world in January -- so it's definitely got some street cred.

The Internet icon is now opening up access to the improved Hangouts feature to the masses to allow budding superstars the ability to publicly broadcast their speeches, interviews, concerts or whatever else they choose to a live, global audience. The content can then be posted to their Google+ stream, YouTube channel or personal/professional website and the number of views it receives can be tracked.

This will be beneficial not only to individuals looking to promote themselves and increase their online web presence, but would be a helpful tool for hosting meetings from home and transmitting lectures to a mass audience.
