Golgi is a newly-launched data transfer platform designed to increase the speed at which mobile apps load. It is claimed that the Golgi platform can increase the loading speed of apps by up to 20 times. It does this by essentially telling apps, servers and devices how to communicate efficiently and effectively with each other.
When an app user shares data with an app, the data is first uploaded to Golgi, which communicates with the receiver device to send the information in pieces as quickly as possible, rather than waiting to send it in one large chunk.
Golgi is free for use with apps that have up to 10,000 users. It costs $199 per month for apps with up to 20,000 users and $999 a month for apps with up to 200,000 users. App makers can avail of custom plans beyond those user numbers.
