The Giambattista Valli Fall/Winter 2011 runway show was loaded with two-piece styles with restrained silhouettes. What's really interesting are the coats, dresses and skirts adorned with longish goat hair. The somber tone of black, cream and charcoal was punched up every now and again with the use of bright colors such as saffron, hot pink and lipstick red.

The eye-catching bright colors worked well against the neutral shades, providing the right amount of spark for the line. Skirts were either knee- or floor-length, and pants were cigarette skinny. The same could be said for the skinny tops and capes. It was almost a metaphor for the lean economic situation, while the bright colors stated that people are thinking of creative ways to have fun.
