GMP Architect firm designed this stadium in Dongguan, China, with the main sport of basketball to be played inside. The interesting part about the structure is how various aspects of it resemble the sport.
For example, according to The Contemporist, "the circular ring is reminiscent of the hoop of a basketball basket to which the facade is attached like the net to the hoop. The typical orange colour of the ball appears behind the net-like facade in the form of the external structure of the arena, and also features in the interior design." These subtle features are all basic nods to the popular sport of the region.
The stadium is set to hold around 15,000 people at a time, which should be easy to do considering there's over seven million citizens in the area.
