Designer Nils Finne is inspired by geological forms from the beach with his new line of ‘STEN’ glass tabletops. His series of coffee tables takes the shape of natural forms induced by water on rocks. The shape of the tables are created using industrial technology of glass lamination to create layers of Starphire glass, then cut with an industrial water jet.

The base of the tables are made of steel that are also cut with a water jet and create an elegant dialogue with the glass. The glass tabletop varies in thickness and finish; each table has a contrast between clear and satin finishes and resemble large rock figures. The contrasting color between cool blue glass and black steel make an effective pair in communicating Finne’s idea. The most captivating attribute of this table is how it reflects and captures light, as if it’s a light form in itself.
