Gina Carano is one tough, albeit smoking hot, woman, but because of the sport she specializes in, she’s prone to nasty media attention. Mixed martial arts have been a hot sports trend for guys for a while, but gradually we’re seeing women join the aggressive sports, but it takes a tough woman emotionally as well as physically to be a champ.

Gina Carano, 26, is a Muay Thai pro best known as “Crush” on American Gladiators. She has pioneered the sport for women, earning her the reputable title of the “face of women’s MMA.”

Not too surprisingly, she’s now dealing with lesbian rumors as photos of her play-fighting with former opponent Tonya Evinger have surfaced. They’re being dubbed ‘lesbian party photos’ by the media.

Will women ever be able to engage in physical sports without being pinpointed as a lesbian? Maybe Gina Carano is gay, but that’s not the point. It’s about the automatic assumption that she is. And when will men understand that just because women are affectionate with each other doesn’t mean there’s any sexual attraction?
