The studdly Pirates of the Caribbean star helped launch the Global Cool campaign in an effort to bring awareness about global warming to the public. “One by one, tonne by tonne” is the slogan of choice for the campaign that lets the environmentally-conscious, celebrity-obsessed among us receive text messages from the stars. For $5 a month, celebrities and rock stars (including the Scissor Sisters, Josh Hartnett, Rosario Dawson, Kate Bosworth, Sienna Miller and Leonardo DiCaprio) will send you tips on how to reduce your carbon footprint.

Using celebs to help market their campaign really boosts the advertising value of Global Cool. They’re not the first company to do it, and they certainly won’t be the last.
