The ink paintings by George Boorujy are stunning. They are so intricately detailed that it almost looks like the animals could trot right off the page. Aside from the stunning representations of feathers and furs, it is George Boorujy's ability to capture life and emotion in his subjects' eyes that truly impresses.

P.P.O.W. gallery, the host of George Boorujy's latest solo show entitled 'Blood Memory,' writes, "Through their gaze an interaction evolves with the wild that otherwise would have to be sought out or birthed from happenstance. [...]There is something mystical at play; a silent exchange that either moves us towards awareness or heightens our fear of the unknown.

Born in New Jersey and based in Brooklyn, George Boorujy concentrates mainly on paintings of North American birds and other animals, although he has been known to complete the occasional landscape portraiture.
