GenPets.com - A Website for a Product That Doesn't Exist Gets Millions of Hits
[Edit]
A work of marketing genius, the Genpets website continues to get millions of hits. for a bio engineered pet that doesn’t actually exist… to the relief of many concerned parents and animal rights activists. Promoted as the perfect pet, these strange looking, monkey-like creations, are actually nothing more than clay, plastic and latex… the work of OCAD graduate Adam Brandejs, a 24 year old sculptor-programmer. Although his marketing mastery is a marvel to many, it still hasn’t resulted in a job offer. However, Adam still views the project as a great success saying “I think public exposure to art is very limited, and I view Genpets.com as more of a way to help open up a public debate on things, which is what I think art is here to do.”
Jim Henson would applaud him.
