In the society we live in gender equality is a hot topic. The UN has put together the HeForShe program to promote gender equality from the men's side by having not notable male figures such as, the Secretary-General of the United Nations Ban Ki Moon and actors Patrick Stewart and Matt Damon.

The program took a different route to face the issue of gender equality by showing that it is not just women that want or benefit from equal rights. With women making up half of the world's population, having men join the fight for gender equality boosts the numbers and brings hope that change is a definite need for everyone to live together peacefully. In a world with many households run by single mothers, the fight for equality can be a tiresome battle.

Adding the voices of men will bolster the desire for the world to realize that gender equality is the only way to the future.
